Car Hire Fleet

Sun Rent a Car is a North Cyprus car hire company with offices in Kyrenia, Nicosia and Ercan Airport. Our fleet includes 180 cars. Of these cars 175 in are right side steering vehicles. This type of cars are better suited for the roads of Northern Cyprus as the traffic here flows on the left side. Among Sun Rent a Car car fleet you will find every type of car, from the simple economy (value) cars to the special feature Luxury and SUV’s cars. Also you be pleased to know that 80% of the rental cars in our fleet are air conditioned which you will find useful especially during the summer season.

Car Hire Prerequisites

In order to hire a car from Sun Rent a Car’s extensive fleet you will need to have a valid drivers license from your country of residence, or an international drivers licence in your possession. If you have been in Northern Cyprus for more than 3 months you will need to apply for a TRNC, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus drivers license. You need to be at least 25 years in order to hire a car with Sun Rent a Car. Also please be aware that there is a minimum rental period at Sun Rent a Car. Your rental period should be no less then three days. The aforementioned are the prerequisites that are required in order to rent a car from our fleet in North Cyprus.

Amenities

Once the prerequisites have been met you will be glad to know that there are many amenities that Sun Rent a Car provides for our customers. First off the car hire delivery and pick up of the rental car to you is free of charge. If you are arriving at the Northern Cyprus airport of Ercan, we offer airport pick ups. Once you arrive at Ercan after clearing immigration on the way out of the building you will see the Sun Rent a Car booth. After filling out the paper work your reserved rental car will be waiting for you outside.

However, we at Sun rent a car realize that not all tourists visiting North Cyprus fly in through the Northern Airport of Ercan. To that end Sun Rent a Car can arrange for a taxi to be waiting for you at Larnaca airport in South Cyprus. The taxi driver will be waiting for you with a signboard that has your name written on it. This taxi will then take you to our Nicosia offices where you may pick up your rental. At the border your driver will take care of the necessary paper work while you remain in the car.

The fee on this service is as follows. The taxi driver charges £30.00 GBP for the Larnaca - Nicosia trip (to and from) or £40.00 for the Larnaca - Kyrenia City centre (to and from). If your final destination from Larnaca is Esentepe or Karsiyaka (which are farther away from Kyrenia city centre) the taxi driver charges an additional £5.00 GBP which brings the total to £45.00 GBP. When it is time for you to depart the island the same driver will pick you up from any location in North and take you back to Larnaca airport.

For those of you worried about receiving a dirty car rest assured that every Sun Rent a Car rental is washed before it is delivered to you. However, if during your rental period you wish to have your car cleaned please inform us. Complimentary cleaning of your car during your rental period is part of the many services that we offer you.

Payment

Payment for your rental is expected at the time of delivery. Payments can be made by credit card (Visa and Master Card), Traveller’s Cheque, or cash. There is also an insurance charge which is known as the, “Collision Damage Waiver” and is £3.00 per day on top of the cost of the rental.

If you will be staying in Northern Cyprus for extended period of time please make sure to inquire about are special rates which are applicable on long term rentals and during the low seasons. Lastly but certainly not least you will be happy to know that there will be no surcharge related to your mileage. During your rental period with us you have the right to unlimited mileage.
